Harry ‘The Ballplayer’ Andrain Avedisian, 65, was graduated to Glory on Saturday, February 13, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Son of Kachadour and Mary Woodbury (Stearns) Avedisian, Harry was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 26, 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Ann Park. He is survived by sisters Vicki June Avedisian and Susan Avedisian Ganaway, and brother-in-love Eugene Ganaway, all of New Port Richey, Florida. He has several cousins, a niece Christine and two grand-nieces. And let’s not forget his most faithful companion, his cat, Wolfie Qwazy Wolf.
Harry had many talents – he was an actor, a chef and a baseball player. But the one trait that everyone in Edgewood, Cranston enjoyed and commented on was his sense of humor. He could perform a 30 minute stand-up routine at the drop of a hat, anywhere and any time. He did not complain during his 3.5 year illness, but rather kept up the happy spirits of anyone with whom he came in contact.
Over the last several years, Harry was there caring for his mother, his father and his sisters, even to the end.
One thing you may not know about Harry is that – he was NOT perfect! However, to the delight of his family on September 9, 2020, Harry turned his life over to the care of Jesus Christ. We find great comfort in the fact that he is now rejoicing with his Lord and Saviour in Heaven.
Donations in his name may be made to the Lifespan Cancer Institute at Rhode Island Hospital.

My deepest sympathies to your family. I knew Harry for well over 45 years, and he will always remain in my heart, as he always has been. He was one funny guy, even as he suffered, he would call me and make me laugh. I will forever miss him and we will meet again, in heaven. Your family are in my prayers💔

I knew Harry for about 6 years. From RIJC baseball to you name it…. we experienced music, the beach, all types of Cranston hang outs; concerts, Red Sox games, and playing basketball.
Going to Harry’s house and smelling onions and garlic…,all the time. His dad was friend of mine as well. He will be missed.

I met your Mom in a gameroom on Facebook. One day, she said her son, Harry, was coming to RI, and asked if I could pick him up at the airport. That’s how I met this great guy. That was well over 15 years ago. He was so much fun, so talented, and so helpful. I miss your Mom, and I will forever miss Harry. No more pain. Rest in peace in the arms of The Lord, my friend. Love, Carol Belmore

Condolences to Harry’s family. I saw Harry quite often as he walked and biked everywhere in the neighborhood. He always had a kind word even though he was very sick for a long time. I have lived on Armington St. for 40 years and have many fond memories of Harry, Kach, Marilyn, and Vicki going back all those years. I miss them all, they were great people and wonderful neighbors. RIP Harry, you will be missed.
Erin Flaherty says
I grew up on Armington and have such wonderful memories of the Avedisian family. I remember all of us kids growing up and sitting on their porch. One of my favorite trees to climb was the one right in front of their house! As I grew up, I enjoyed seeing Harry all over the neighborhood, either walking or riding his bike. I had such a wonderful conversation with him before he passed. I will always remember that. I feel very lucky to have known him for so long and call him my neighbor and friend. Turning onto Rushton Dr. and seeing him on the porch or yard will always be something I will remember. He was such a wonder man and neighbor and he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Harry.

Harry’s memorial here was beautiful written and described Harry very well!
I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s sad to know that Harry was so ill, but I pray that you find comfort knowing that he is no longer suffering and sick.
I will always cherish my memories of big, tall Harry telling jokes and making me laugh. God bless.

I was saddened to learn of dear Harry passing.
My daughter and I have many happy memories of Harry, he was a friend to us till the end.
I was strangely comforted by the coincidence of Harry passing within days of our mutual friend, Tim— ‘’Timmy Mac’’McConchie.
It cheered me to no end to think of them reunited in heavenly glory, wingmen and friends for all eternity.
God Bless you, friend. The good deeds, friendship, laughter, and strength that you shared with us all are fondly remembered, as are you— the man himself.
PS- thanks for the sign from beyond, Buddy.
It was unmistakable, classic Harry.
