Mrs. Lynne Diane (Ainsworth) Winchell, age 73, passed away on August 4, 2020, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center with her son by her side. Born in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of Alfred Ainsworth and Barbara Pearl (Grinrod) Ainsworth. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Kenneth Winchell.
Lynne was blessed with two children, Brian Winchell and his wife, Judith of Portsmouth and the late Stephen J. Winchell. She will be missed by her siblings: Steve Ainsworth of upstate New York; Don Ainsworth of Portsmouth, RI; and Jean Gallant of Fall River, MA; and her six grandchildren: the late Shayna (Menoche), Joshua, Stephen II, Christopher, Nathan, Elizabeth.
After graduating from the Community College of Rhode Island with an Associate’s Degree, she worked as a home health aide. Over the years, she brought care and comfort to many elder individuals on Aquidneck Island and families throughout Newport County. Lynne enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid animal lover having a special fondness for dogs and birds.
Services will be private.

Brian, I think I remember when your mom decided to take courses for her degree. I had the pleasure of meeting her acquaintances as well as you boys. You all are fondly remembered. Time passes quickly and good times as well as good people not forgotten.
